Coaching for Growth
Our Dream Builders visit classrooms, conducting observations to provide targeted feedback and coaching conversations. These collaborative sessions are also opportunities to integrate other components of The Critical Classroom Connection. Our Teacher Development/Coaching services can be tailored to fit your individual school’s or district’s needs. From stand-alone Professional Empowerment Sessions to small group meetings and individual coaching, we are here to optimize your school’s culture through life-transforming, evidence-based interventions, and services.
EVIDENCE BASED INTERVENTION
We offer two different evidence-based intervention courses for students.
Traditional School Course
Competing as a Lifestyle: You vs. You – A Student’s Guide to Greatness. With pullout classes conducted twice-a-week, students work with Dream Builders to receive personal life coaching to help them justify the change process and reverse-navigate their social sphere to conquer peer pressure and poor choices. Students progressively take ownership of their habits, disciplines, and their own achievement. Teaching and leading becomes easier when students are motivated and hungry for their own progress.
Non-Traditional and Alternative School Programs
For students needing more intensive tier 3 interventions, we offer a character-based curriculum and small-group life-coaching sessions. We focus on one character quality a week. Our Dream Builders spend 15-20 minutes at the beginning of each day reviewing the character quality, offering different activities to maximize student engagement. By Friday, students will be able to discuss the character quality and apply it to their own lives.
Spending the first half of the day at the alternative placement site, our life coaches target kids based on how long they have been assigned, scheduling them for small group coaching based on their personal needs. When they return to home buildings, our Dream Builders follow-up, reviewing grades, re-affirming strategies, providing encouragement, and more. We believe in building real relationships with students, so we don’t forget about them when they return to their traditional school placements.

When students are enrolled in our evidence-based interventions courses, we offer add-on supports for their parents/guardians. Parental engagement critically influences the success of children in school and in life. That’s why our book Dream Building for Parents helps guardians to master seven key areas of parental influence:
We are always willing to customize our approach to meet your needs. Below are some models we have implemented in the past.
- Workshop Series – We have a series of 10-workshops to accompany the book. If your school has any partnerships that could help provide incentives, such as a free meal for attending, that can be a great strategy for promoting involvement. Our consultants are willing to partner with you on how to market this series to maximize attendance.
- Day-Long Bootcamp – If schools can’t get parents to commit to a series of 10 workshops, we can conduct a day-long boot-camp. We combine stations for each of the seven key areas of influence with two “relaxation stations,” where parents/guardians can receive things like a massage, a mani/pedi etc. We believe in pairing empowerment with pampering/self-care.
We also offer access to our PARENT HOTLINE where guardians experiencing challenges with their child(ren) can call and leave a message, and a Dream Builder will return their call within 24 hours. To learn more about our parent development services, contact us.
POSITIVE SCHOOL CULTURE TOOLS
At Dream Builders University we have worked diligently over the past ten years to perfect our anti-bullying tools for school districts. We have provided these tools to schools across the country, and we have experienced documented success with parents, students, and teachers.
- 90% of 4th through 8th graders report being victims of bullying.
- 71% of students report incidents of bullying as a problem at their school.
- As boys age, they are less and less likely to feel sympathy for victims of bullying. In fact, they are more likely to add to the problem than solve it.
- By age 14, less than 30% of boys and 40% of girls will talk to their peers about bullying.
We help students build positive self-images to combat their negative internal voice; what we call “self-bullying.” Sometimes, kids with negative internal voices project that negativity onto other kids, continuing the cycle. That’s why our anti-bullying efforts start by strengthening students’ sense of self.
Our curriculum and products are designed to build positive self-image, to promote resilience, and to create a unified culture where children resist bullies through a constructive mindset. Our books focus on social and emotional learning supports, creating a consistent intersection between conflict and the next steps for solving conflict.
